HUDSON — The St. Croix County Board has re-elected Bob Long as chair and Bob Feidler as vice-chair.
The county board spent about three minutes of a nearly three and a half hour re-organizational meeting on April 16 to elect the chair and vice-chair.
St. Croix County Corporation Counsel Heather Amos conducted the election for chair.
Long was the only nomination, and Amos asked for other nominations three times. The nominations were closed, and Long was elected on a voice vote.
Long presided over the election of vice-chair, and Feidler was the only nomination.
After asking for other nominations three times, the nominations were closed, and Feidler was elected as vice-chair on a voice vote.
This will be Long’s second two-year term as chair of the St. Croix County Board.
Long said he was honored to be elected as chair again and asked that the other county board supervisors continue communicating with him.
The feedback from the other board members is an essential part of doing an effective job as county board chair, he said.
The remainder of the meeting was spent on a variety of topics, including confirmation of county administrator appointments to the Health and Human Services Board; the roles and responsibilities of county board supervisors; standing committees with department head introductions; the process for using Roberts Rules of Order, county rules, and the standing committee and assignment process; strategic planning and budgeting; and a presentation on the Wisconsin Open Meetings Law, public records and best practices.
