DURAND — Playing their first Dunn-St. Croix Conference game of the season, the Colfax softball team traveled to Durand April 4 and came away with a 14-0 win over the Panthers.
The Vikings jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the top of the first inning and continued to tack on more runs with three in the third, two more in the fourth and three more in the fifth. The Panthers couldn’t score in the fifth, ending the game in five innings.
Laikyn Beyer hurled all five innings for the shutout, allowing four hits with six strikeouts.
Every batter in the Colfax lineup had at least one hit with the offense exploding for 17 total hits. McKenna Shipman and Alexis Schindler led the bombing, both batting 3-for-4 with a trio of RBIs, while Brynn Sikora and Hannah Peterson were both 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs each. Emma Medin was 2-for-4 with a trio of RBIs and Audrey Ebert batted 2-for-4.
Sikora slammed a double and a triple and Shipman and Olivia Runowski both banged out a double. Ebert swiped two bases and Jada Anderson, Peterson and Beyer all had one steal.
