The Lady Vikings traveled to the Woodside Sports Complex in Mauston for a pair of Saturday games April 6 and defeated both teams by a combined 50-0.
Colfax started the day with a 30-0 bombing of Cameron and took the second contest by blasting Cumberland 20-0. Both games ended in five innings.
Cameron
Viking starting pitcher Lailyn Beyer threw the first two innings against the Comets, whiffing four batters and did not give up a hit. Alexis Schindler hurled the final three, relinquishing three hits with a pair of strikeouts. Both players helped their cause with Beyer batting 4-for-5 which included a home run and a triple, bringing in seven runners while scoring four times. Schindler slammed three hits to bring in four runs while McKenna Shipman was 4-for-4 in the game with two RBIs while scoring five times.
The Vikings started the game with a three-run first inning, added seven in the second and pretty much ended the contest with a 12-run third. They continued to score at will with three in the fourth and finished with five runs in the fifth.
Emma Medin batted 3-for-4 including a home run and scored three times, Jada Anderson was 3-for-6, blasting a home run and a double for six RBIs and scored four times and Brynn Sikora showed her power with a pair of homers and a triple. Audrey Ebert smacked a triple and Mackenzie Loback joined the home run club with one of her own.
Cumberland
The Vikings may have been tired after all their running against Cameron since the game against the Beavers started a little slow. They scored a single run in the first, added two in the second then began to open things up with five in the third. They followed up by blasting a ton of hits for a nine-run fourth. They finished off the scoring with three runs in the fifth.
Sikora showed off her power once again with a pair of home runs in a 3-for-3 performance at the plate, bringing in four teammates and scoring three times. Beyer contributed at the plate and on the mound, slamming a homer and picking up three RBIs while pitching a two hitter and striking out five batters. Anderson and Schindler both crossed the plate three times and Schindler was credited with two stolen bases and Runowski and Peterson both had one.
