Barbershopper of the year award and installation of officers banquet

On January 15, the Dunn County Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society gathered at the Viking Bowl in Colfax to present the “Barbershopper of the Year Award” and Install Officers and Board Members for 2024.

Receiving the award of Barbershopper of the Year for 2023 was Neil Segerstrom of Mondovi. Neil’s dedication and passion show through his outstanding leadership within the Chapter throughout the year.

Officers for 2024 are Gary Thorson, President; Tom Casey, Secretary; Gary Johnson, Treasurer; Dennis Ruda, Music and Performance; Barry Dietsche, Program VP; Vern Dornier, Membership and Development VP;  Dave McNaughton, Youth in Harmony; Neil Segerstrom, Member at Large; Dan Heike, Music Director; Don Hayden, Marketing and Public Relations.

The Chapter will be Sponsoring an Open House and Get Together on January 30th at Chapel Heights Methodist Church, 300 E. Hamilton Ave, Eau Claire. This is open to men of all ages and we will have Professional Coaching, Quartets will be singing, and you can learn about 4 part A Capella Harmony.

The 53rd Annual Show “An IRISH SPRING” will be presented on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 7:00 pm in the Colfax High School Gymnasium. Irish style of music will be the main attraction at this years show with many familiar and fun songs! The show is produced by the Dunn County Chapter of he Barbershop Harmony Society. Headlining the show this year will be “Coulee Classics” and 

“Just One More”. These quartets ar fun, high energy acts, that come with a variety of great music and lots of laughs for all ages. Complete information on the show will follow in the next few weeks, stay tuned.
