Boyceville – The Boyceville Community School District will put an $18 million referendum question on the April 2, 2024, ballot. The funds will be used to address capital improvements and maintenance repairs if approved.
Tiffany Creek Elementary School was new in 1990, and portions of Boyceville High School are from the 1960s. With facilities up to 70 years old, equipment and systems are starting to fail.
“We conducted a facility study in 2015, which helped us address things on a smaller basis, but we knew we had larger issues looming,” said District Administrator Nicholas Kaiser. “Another study in 2023 confirmed those suspicions, identifying safety, mechanical, and structural concerns.”
The referendum scope includes items such as installing secure entrances, updating boilers and HVAC systems, investing in LED lighting, replacing deteriorating doors, windows, and flooring, and performing exterior upgrades. The proposed projects will provide students comfortable learning in a safe and secure environment. The District will also benefit from utility savings by installing energy-efficiency equipment.
Due to recent debt falling off, residents will see no tax impact on the debt service if this referendum is approved. For more information on the upcoming referendum, including a complete list of proposed projects, visit https://www.boyceville.k12.wi.us/district/referendum.cfm.
