Menomonie community comes together to build a twin home for two families

The Menomonie community comes together to build a twin home for two families on Brickyard Road. The “Faith Build” and “Women Build”, as this twin home is referred to, will receive a Ground Blessing, this Sunday, December 10, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. The City of Menomonie Mayor, Chippewa Valley Habitat for Humanity (CVH4H) Board Members, faith community, local businesses and organizations, neighbors, and the future homeowners will be in attendance for the event.

The Faith Build has rallied the Menomonie Faith Community, with approximately 12 churches represented, through prayer, volunteer resources and donations. CVH4H is ramping up a team of supporters for the Women Build and connecting with several interested organizations and women owned businesses. In both instances, CVH4H is supported by a team of regular volunteers who continue to provide meaningful support to proactively address difficult problems facing our society, including housing insecurity and homelessness.

For over 20 years Chippewa Valley Habitat for Humanity has partnered with low-income families to create better futures through affordable housing opportunities in the Chippewa Valley. In the next 3-5 years, CVH4H is completing several high-impact, local projects including:

• the Faith Build and Women Build in Menomonie

• An 11-unit, wheelchair-accessible permanent supportive housing apartment complex for Veterans who are homeless or facing severe housing security.

• Multi-family housing subdivisions in Menomonie and Eau Claire

CVH4H brings together amazing volunteers, gifts, and donated/discounted materials to build simple, quality homes at a lower cost than would otherwise be possible. Low-income partner families, who put in 300 hours of “sweat equity” to build their home, can then take on an affordable mortgage. This creates economic stability, better educational and health outcomes for children, and, ultimately, stronger communities. Some of our most dedicated volunteers are Habitat homeowners.

With your support, we can make strides in solving the housing crisis in our area! If you are interested in supporting the Faith Build and/or Women Build, engaging in meaningful work and create brighter futures for hard-working families and individuals who need a hand up, not a hand out, please go to to sign up to volunteer.
