Rubenzer garners Eagle Scout honors

Ethan Rubenzer
Ethan Rubenzer from Troop 11, was awarded his Eagle Scout at his troops Court of Honor at the Moose Lodge on August 20, 2023. Ethan is the son of Bob & Danielle Rubenzer of Bloomer. Eagle Scout is rare, and it is the highest rank in Scouts. Less than 4% of Scouts ever achieve the Eagle award!
Ethan worked very hard on his project, spending over 59 hours at Hickory Ridge Bike trail. Besides building several benches and engraving them, Ethan also worked on Reconstructing over 600 yards of the bike trail- which included, clearing the trail of rocks, sticks, roots & knocking down the banks on the high side of the trail, creating a slope for water runoff & erosion prevention. It was an especially perfect project for Ethan, as he does a lot of biking. Besides mountain biking, Ethan has done the 100 mile bike ride called the “Century Ride” 3 times.
Ethan says he’d like to give a special acknowlegement to his Dad, Bob Rubenzer and Ethan’s brothers (Ryan & Carter) for being so inspiring & wonderful Boy Scout leaders, showing by example for many years. Ethan’s Dad, Bob Rubenzer was the Scout-Master for many years during Ethan’s time in Scouts while earning his ranks, but recently Phil Scaar took over being the Scout-Master, they both are amazing and dedicated leaders!
Ethan graduated from Bloomer High School this past Spring. He plans to stay Active in the Boy Scout troop helping the younger scouts and also in the Order of the Arrow. Scouting is important to Ethan, as he has been in Boy Scouts since kindergarten and has always truly enjoyed it. Ethan says it’s a great way to get involved in the community, inspire the younger kids to outdoor activities & building things, and helping people in need. “Boy Scouts has taught me so much!” He said.
