According to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation the following list of ongoing projects in St. Croix and Dunn counties.
The safety and weight enforcement facility along eastbound highway I-94 east of Hudson is in is second year of construction.
Work on the $21.98 million dollar project includes replacing the existing building with a modern one, reconstructing the parking lots and ramp/loop roadways and constructing an automated truck traffic monitoring system along eastbound I-94, a virtual weight station along US 12 and an approximate 300-foot communications tower near the new building. There will be a continuous left-lane closer in the three-lane portion of I-94 near the US 12 interchange and lane shift until temporary widening of the eastbound median is removed later this summer.
Highway 79 between Boyceville and US-12 is closed for the replacement of bridges over Coon and Clark creeks. The $2.07 million project is scheduled to be complete in November.
Wisconsin Highway 65 in Roberts will be expanded from two lanes to four lanes from the westbound lanes of I-94 ramp to about 1,200 feet north of 70th Avenue with the installation of turn lanes, traffic islands and new traffic signals at the 70th Avenue intersection. The $6.47 million project is expected to be complete next month.
Also scheduled for completion next month is the replacing of the existing east and westbound I-94 bridges over the Rush River west of Baldwin with structures wide enough to allow for an additional lane of traffic on I-94 when warranted, along with approach pavement.
The same type of project is being done on I-94 over the Carr Creek south of Woodville with new bridges to allow for an additional lane when warranted. This $21.6 million project is scheduled for completion in November.
A one million dollar project is the rehabilitating the bridge over the Kinnickinnic River in River Falls.
A $6.47 million project on St. Croix County C in the Town of Somerset to Laser Drive in the Village of Somerset will include replacing the pavement from County C to Laser Drive; upgrade the WIS 35/Church Hill Road/Main Street intersection and adding new traffic signals; and replacing and upgrading utilities.
