Brice, Ebert earn all-state academic golf honors
Colfax-Elk Mound boys’ golfers Zane Brice and Christian Ebert were selected as 2023 Academic All-State honorees by Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin (GCAW).
“Zane Brice and Christian Ebert are student-athletes who have served as great examples to others, proving that athletic and academic successes are not mutually exclusive,” stated the GCAW in its news release that announced the honors.
Brice, a junior, was the lone member of the Colfax-Elk Mound squad to qualify for WIAA Division 2 sectional competition this past spring and also earned Dunn-St. Croix first-team all-conference recognition.
Students are submitted by GCAW coaches if they meet the following criteria: 1.) A cumulative GPA of at least 3.25, 2.) participation in at least 75% of their team’s varsity matches, and 3.) are a sophomore, junior or senior.
The GCAW is proud to announce that 432 students from 125 different high schools have been honored this year. In fact, the average GPA of these students is an exceptional 3.740.
The GCAW was formed by high school golf coaches in 1986 to help build and enhance Wisconsin’s reputation for developing quality junior players by promoting golf in our schools and communities.
