St. Croix Valley Genealogical Society to meet May 18

The speaker for the May 18 meeting is Bob Johnson. His topic is “An Introduction to Norwegian Genealogical Records”. This presentation covers the most important records for good genealogical research in Norway—church records, census records, and bygdebøker—and from there move on to other helpful secondary sources. Among the sources discussed are the Norwegian National Archives (Arkivverket), Norway-Heritage, Oluf Rygh website, FamilySearch, MyHeritage, and Ancestry.com. By the end of the presentation, you will be prepared to move forward with your Norwegian research.
