GLENWOOD CITY — In an abbreviated open meeting of the Glenwood City School Board Monday night, May 9, and the executive session that followed, several personnel moves were approved.
Under its consent agenda the board accepted several resignations including that of agriculture teacher and FFA advisor Sean VanderWaal. Also stepping down from their positions were: paraprofessional Laura Lee, Hangtime/Tiny Toppers employee Amber Hoffman, Sarah Nichols as assistant cross country coach, Jake Score as assistant high school football coach and Dean Fayerweather as middle school football coach.
Postings for those positions along with one for a head girls’ basketball coach were also approved along with the list of 2022-23 fall coaches.
A donation of $1,099 to the football program was also accepted for the purchase of the Hudl video program.
Following the closed-door executive session, the board reconvened in open session and approved hirings for several open teaching positions.
Patrick Olson was chosen as the new marketing and business education teacher, Taylor Deling was selected to fill the high school social studies position, Ryan Paul will become the middle school English Language Arts instructor and Nicole Johnson and Ana Schuerstedt were tabbed to filled a pair of elementary teacher openings.
