ELK MOUND — The Elk Mound High School Alumni Scholarship Fund awarded scholarships to three spring graduates this year.
To be considered for the scholarship, the students were required to write an essay and also participated in a virtual interview.
Wensel
Sydney Wensel, daughter of Travis and Cindy Wensel, received a $1,000 scholarship.
Sydney plans to attend UW-Eau Claire and to major in psychology.
She participated in Science Olympiad, Drama Club, Future Business Leaders of America, solo and ensemble, and also cheerleading. She volunteered in the STEP Force at Mayo Clinic as well as worked at Ruby’s Pantry.
Kettler
Kaitlyn Kettler, daughter of Matt Forehand and Elizabeth Hase Forehand, received a $500 scholarship.
Kaitlyn plans to attend the UW-Eau Claire School of Nursing.
During her high school years, Kaitlyn took part in choir, student council, yearbook, Mathletes, and solo and ensemble competitions.
Her volunteer activities included Ruby’s Pantry, Mounder Closet, a program for underserved dental people and community tornado clean-up.
Kinblom
Morgan Kinblom, daughter of Greg and Jennifer Kinblom, received a $500 scholarship.
Morgan plans to attend UW-Eau Claire to study communication disorders.
Morgan’s school activities included Student Council, Elk Mound athletics, high school and honors band, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and National Honor Society.
Her community activities included Ruby’s Pantry, craft sale set up at Elk Mound High School for the Elk Mound Booster Club craft sales, and serving as a Sunday school teacher.
