COLFAX — One candidate was officially on the ballot in the April 6 election for four positions on the Colfax Village Board, which included village president and three village trustee positions.
Jody Albricht was the only registered write-in candidate for village president.
The candidates for village trustee who received the top three vote totals were Margaret Burcham, Jeff Prince and Jen Rud.
Incumbent Village Trustee Burcham was the only candidate to file nomination papers with the village clerk’s office by the deadline in January to officially appear on the ballot.
Village President Scott Gunnufson and Village Trustees Anne Jenson and Logan Michels decided not to run for re-election and filed notifications of non-candidacy by the deadline at the end of December.
According to unofficial election results from April 6, Burcham received 125 votes.
Registered write-in candidate Jody Albricht received 51 votes for village president.
There were no other official write-in candidates for the village president position.
In addition to Burcham running for one of three village trustee positions, three other people registered as write-in candidates for village trustee.
Registered write-in candidate Jeff Prince received 71 votes for village trustee, while registered write-in candidate Jen Rud received 58 votes for village trustee and registered write-in candidate Mark Mouledoux received 38 votes.
Votes can only be counted for registered write-in candidates.
Village residents could register as write-in candidates until noon on Friday, April 2.
Eight other candidates were written in on April 6 ballots for village president: Ricky Brockmiller (1 vote); Gary Stene (4 votes); Jen Rud (1); Mark Mouledoux (4); Jeff Prince (1); Derrick Fjelsted (1); Richard Johnson (1); Lee Bjurquist (1).
Five other candidates were written in for village trustee: Derrick Fjelsted (6 votes); Barbara Black (1); R.O.C. (1); Terry Moen (1); Jason Johnson (1).
Colfax school board
Two candidates were on the ballot for the Colfax Board of Education.
Incumbents Kenneth Neuburg and Kyle Lee Knutson both filed nomination papers by the deadline in January.
According to official election results, Neuburg received 482 votes, and Knutson received 548 votes.
Town of Colfax
Two candidates were on the ballot for treasurer in the Town of Colfax and were nominated to be on the ballot during the town caucus in January.
Incumbent treasurer Melissa Morgan received 92 votes, while challenger Deanna Arntson received 62 votes.
