TOWN OF HOWARD — Heather Rothbauer-Wanish is one of two candidates in the April 6 election for Supervisor I on the Howard Town Board.
Rothbauer-Wanish will face Jeffrey Bennesch on the ballot for the Supervisor I position.
Rothbauer-Wanish, age 44, has been married to her husband, Todd, for eighteen and a half years; she has a stepdaughter, Brandi Wanish, and a son, Will Wanish.
Since 2008, she has been the owner of Feather Communications. As a Certified Professional Resume Writer, she has written thousands of resumes for individuals across the United States and beyond.
In addition, Rothbauer-Wanish has taught college classes since 2008 and currently serves as a Lecturer in the Business Communication Department at UW-Eau Claire.
Rothbauer-Wanish is a graduate of Colfax High School. She has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from UW-Eau Claire, an MBA from Lakeland University, and a PhD in Organization and Management from Capella University.
Here are Rothbauer-Wanish’s answers to a candidate questionnaire sent out by the Colfax Messenger:
What experience do you have as an elected official or in leadership positions?
This is my first campaign as a potential elected official. However, I have been an adult volunteer with the Howard-Wheaton 4-H Club since 2013, am an active member of the Colfax FFA Alumni, have been a volunteer with the Colfax Scholastic Trap Team, and have served in a variety of leadership positions at work, as a mentor to college students, and as a leader in the classroom.
Why did you decide to run for the town board?
As someone that has lived in the township for my entire life, I am seeking an opportunity to give-back to the area while also making sure that our township is ready for the future.
What do you believe to be the biggest challenges or issues facing your township?
Road conditions and maintenance continue to be one of the challenges in our township. Furthermore, it is vital that our township residents see their tax dollars going to good use and that they are being allocated properly.
What do you hope to accomplish by serving on your town board?
At this time, I think it’s important that the next generation — especially those of us planning to stay here — take on some of the leadership within the township. This will ensure that our values are upheld while also positioning the township for the future. By serving on the town board, I am hoping to make a positive impact within the community, verify that all residents feel represented, and confirm that all resources are used effectively.
Why are you the best candidate for the town board?
I’m eager to make a difference and I believe it’s time for more leaders to come forward and advocate for the Town of Howard.
