Colfantastic Events to “Light Up” Colfax for Christmas season
COLFAX — Heather Logslett and Jeanna Berge would like to present ColFANTASTIC Events – small town fun featuring events throughout the year for the entire community! The first event will be Colfax’s first ever Christmas Light Contest to bring Christmas cheer and joy to Colfax. Everyone is then invited on Saturday, December 19th to be part of the Community Christmas Train Parade in vehicles/floats (prize from Colfax Chevrolet for best decorated), while enjoying hot chocolate from Bethany Lutheran Church and ending at the Colfax fire station for a chili feed!
How You Can Win
Anyone with a Colfax address can decorate the outside of their home/business with lights and displays for the chance to WIN our amazing prizes from local businesses! We will have a Grand Prize voted on by celebrity town judges, The People’s Choice Award and Best Decorated Business voted on by the people via the Colfantastic Facebook page and Best Decorated vehicle/float voted on by the Colfax Fire Department.
How to Sign Up
You have until Sunday, December 13th to email colfantastic.events@gmail.com your name, address, phone number, and 2 photos of your decorated home and/or business. We will immediately post all the photos received on the Colfantastic Events Facebook page so voting can begin.
Christmas Train Parade
Just like Rudolph guides the way with his bright red nose, the Colfax Fire Department will guide the way with their bright red “HOSED” firetruck for a community Christmas Train Parade! We will have everyone line up at the Colfax High School parking lot on December 19th to take off at 5:30 p.m.! Bethany Lutheran Church will be handing out free hot chocolate to everyone as they line up so come early! The parade will end at the Colfax Fire Station for a drive-thru Chili Feed (free-will donation for hot chocolate and chili feed if you want and both are while supplies last)!
Prizes
Grand Prize–$300 Value Prize Pack from Local Businesses; People’s Choice Award–$200 Value Prize Pack from Local Businesses; Best Decorated Business–Free Radio Advertising Schedule with iHeartMedia; and Best Decorated Vehicle/Float for Parade–Free vehicle detailing from Colfax Chevrolet. Winners will be announced on the Colfantastic Events Facebook page on December 20th!
The celebrity town judges are Kyle and Claudia Kressin, owners of Kyle’s Market; Annie Schieber, owner of A Little Slice of Italy; and Scott and Shannon Psak, owners of Colfax Chevrolet.
