Due to the coronavirus, Colfax’s 2020 football season is done.
The Vikings had to cancel their regular-season finale in Cadott last Friday, November 6 due to concerns of COVID-19 and now they have forfeited their playoff game, which had been slated for this coming Friday, to Cameron.
Despite finishing the regular season without a win, Colfax (seeded third) was part of the playoff picture as they were awarded a first-round contest that was schedule to be played November 13 in Cameron. Instead, the Vikings’ forfeit means that the Comets will take on the winner of the Cadott (#1) versus Ladysmith (#4) game in the final round on November 19.
There will be no state football championships this year. Instead, teams qualified for a two-round playoff schedule, with level one winners playing in the second round to conclude the year.
