St. Paul man dies in accident near Roberts

ROBERTS — A 59-year-old man from St. Paul, MN has died following a single-vehicle accident near Roberts over the weekend.

The man has been identified as Richard D. Bold.

The accident occurred at 8:50 p.m. Friday, October 30 at mile marker 7 along the west bound lanes of Interstate 94.

According to a news release from the Wisconsin State Patrol, a vehicle reported as traveling at a high rate of speed on west bound I-94 in St. Croix County lost control and entered the median. The vehicle rolled multiple times and the lone occupant was fatally injured.

Bold was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Assisting agencies included the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office, Roberts Fire and Rescue and the St. Croix County Medical Examiner’s Office.

This was the fifth fatality in St. Croix County this year.
