The candidates in the race to represent Wisconsin’s 10th Senate District will debate on “The West Side” 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 16. The Ideas Network stations of Wisconsin Public Radio: 88.3/Menomonie-Eau Claire and 88.7/River Falls.
Host Dean Kallenbach will be welcoming incumbent Patty Schachtner, D-Somerset, and challenger Rob Stafsholt, R-New Richmond. Schachtner won a special election in January 2018 to replace long-time Republican Sen. Sheila Harsdorf. Stafsholt is currently the 29th District Assembly representative.
The 10th Senate District includes most of St. Croix and Polk counties, southwestern Burnett County, parts of north-central Pierce County and west-central Dunn County. Cities in the district include Menomonie, River Falls, Hudson, New Richmond, Amery, St. Croix Falls and Glenwood City. The district includes the villages of Baldwin, North Hudson, Somerset, Osceola, Frederic, Hammond, Roberts, Woodville, Grantsburg, Frederic, Luck, Boyceville, Balsam Lake, Centuria, Milltown, Dresser, Siren, Webster, Star Prairie, Knapp, Downing, Deer Park and Wilson.
