Spectator guidelines for sports season announced

from Patrick Gretzlock, Glenwood City High/Middle School Principal/Director of Athletics

It is with great excitement that we welcome back high school and middle school athletics to our school community. As we are about to unveil the 2020 Fall Sports’ Season, there are a number of adjustments that need to brought to light. It is imperative that we work to abide by these adjustments in an effort to provide a safe and successful season amidst a pandemic.

This fall will be unlike any other sports’ season and we hope that our Hilltopper Community will work to ensure that our season can provide some normalcy to our student-athletes. The following are the expectations for spectators at home events.

GENERAL GUIDELINES

• If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or you have been exposed in the past fourteen days to a person who has tested positive for COVID-19 DO NOT ATTEND THE EVENT.

• Spectators are encouraged to sanitize upon entry to our facility.

• Restrooms will be available.

• Concessions WILL NOT be available.

• INDOOR EVENTS: Masks are required for all in attendance at all times.

• OUTDOOR EVENTS: Masks are required when social distancing is not possible.

• Four (4) wristbands per student-athlete will be provided for all HOME events.

• Host schools determine the number of “wristbands/tickets” per student-athlete (see table below).

• Wristbands are available for family members only.

• Wristbands will be required for both home/away events.

• There is no charge for the wristbands (donations are accepted and appreciated).

• Sport-specific guidelines are available on our Activities Webpage (gcsd.k12.wi.us/activities)

We are fortunate to have an opportunity to watch our student-athletes participate in the activities they love this fall and our fans are fortunate to be able to attend. Regardless of the requirements, we ask that you remain respectful and compliant when you visit our facilities and those of our opponents. School officials, coaches and student-athletes have worked to develop and implement these strategies and we are doing our best to ensure that we maintain a safe and healthy environment for our entire school community.

FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THESE EXPECTATIONS MAY RESULT IN DENIAL OF ADMISSION TO FUTURE GLENWOOD CITY HIGH SCHOOL EVENTS
