A GREEN THUMB — Gust Fehr, age 88, of Colfax poses with the zinnias and sunflowers he planted this spring. Zinnias typically do not grow this tall, and when asked if he had used a special fertilizer on them, Gust replied, “No. I just love zinnias.” Gust’s flower garden was alive with hummingbirds, too, visiting the feeder hidden among the flowers.
