Resurfacing project on segment of US 12/WIS 29 in Dunn County underway

To invest in Wisconsin’s transportation system, Gov. Tony Evers has signed a $3.1 million contract to resurface US 12/WIS 29 between I-94 in the town of Elk Mound and County B in the town of Red Cedar in Dunn County. Work began on Monday.

Monarch Paving Co. is the prime contractor for the project. To extend the service life of US 12/WIS 29, construction will entail:

• Milling the existing asphalt pavement.

• Overlaying US 12/WIS 29 with asphalt.

• Cleaning, repairing or replacing culverts.

• Replacing guardrail.

• Marking the new pavement.

During construction, at least one lane of US 12/WIS 29 will remain open to traffic, controlled by flaggers. Both lanes will be open to traffic during non-working hours.

Construction is scheduled for completion in October. The schedule is dependent on favorable weather conditions and construction progress.
