Colfax High School band and choir students met great success at district solo/ensemble held in early March in Glenwood City.
Soloists who qualified for state had the option of submitting a video to receive comments and a state-level rating. Although not all qualifying students chose to submit videos, four of our state-qualifying students submitted a total of eight entries.
Earning first (top) ratings were: Hunter Larson (baritone solo, music-theatre solo), Wesley Kallstrom (baritone solo and xylophone solo), Trey Hovde (tenor solo).
Earning second ratings were: Caden Erickson (tenor solo), Trey Hovde (music-theatre solo), Wesley Kallstrom (baritone solo).
Because of COVID-19 and groups being unable to gather, state-qualifying show choir, guys’ ensemble, and treble ensemble, and a piano duet of Catherine Zons and Katie Riley weren’t able to compete at state this year.
