A New Experience — Trinity and Salem Iron Creek United Methodist Church members gathered together at a “Drive-in” worship service for Palm Sunday. —photo submitted
Trinity and Salem Iron Creek United Methodist Church members gathered together at a “Drive-in” worship service for Palm Sunday. Parishioners remained in their cars as Pastor Allen Christensen led the service from a lectern on a wagon. Songs were sung, scripture was read, and prayers were offered. What a sight it was to see palms waving out of car windows as “Hosanna, Loud Hosanna,” was sung. Several neighbors and drive bys joined us.
On Maundy Thursday, we will have a drive thru Communion from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Trinity.
Good Friday morning at 8:00 a.m. Pastor Allen will be doing his 4th annual Cross Walk thru town. You are encouraged to support him by flashing your headlights or honking your horns.
Good Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. a service of Remembrance and Committal will be held at Iron Creek Cemetery on Co. Hwy E (south and west of Elk Mound). Remain in your cars.
Easter Sunrise Service, entitled “He is Not Here. He is Risen!” will be at 6:00 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery, Elk Mound, again in your cars.
Easter Sunday, we will be doing the same type of service to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. Drive-in Service at 9:15 a.m. at Iron Creek and 10:45 a.m. at Trinity. You are invited to join us at 105 S. Holly Avenue, Elk Mound.
As long as the quarantine continues we will be worshiping this way. For more information, call 715-879-5596 and leave a message.
