GENNA GRETZLOCK

HALLIE COOK
Glenwood City High/Middle School is proud to announce the January Students of the Month. Initiative was the character trait that was the focus of the month. Students who are mindful of the misfortunes of others and who act to help others overcome struggles were our focal point. The staff at Glenwood City High/Middle School has identified the following students who demonstrate these traits in their day-to-day interactions.
The January Student of the Month at Glenwood City High School is senior, Hallie Cook. In nominating Hallie, Ms. Finley states, “Hallie has shown a lot of initiative this year. She regularly requests feedback on her pieces and often goes beyond the requirements of the assignment. She has demonstrated a drive to do things well. Hallie has challenged herself in class by doing things that are outside of her comfort zone. Her willingness to push herself has opened her up to new opportunities and experiences.”
Hallie is the daughter of Sonya Mahoney and David Cook.
The January Student of the Month at Glenwood City Middle School is seventh grader, Genna Gretzlock. Genna was recognized by Mr. Score, who states, “I would like to nominate Genna Gretzlock as Student of the Month for January due to the initiative she has shown as a Middle School student-athlete over the last year and a half. Genna takes the initiative to complete her work and prepare for tests so that she is able to do her best and attain high goals in the classroom. She also often takes the initiative to volunteer to read or discuss topics in class. Now, coaching her in basketball, I have also noted that Genna also shows great initiative on the court by asking questions and working as hard as she can to better herself as a player and help the team achieve success. Genna shows great initiative, and I believe she should be considered for Student of the Month!”
Genna is the daughter of Paula and Patrick Gretzlock.
Students of the Month are rewarded by having a lunch provided for them and a friend, as well as being issued a unique piece of Hilltopper apparel. In addition, students are provided with preferential parking (for them or a family member).
Congratulations to Hallie and Genna!
We would also like to recognize the following students who were nominated in conjunction with their ability to be initiative – Kaitlin Lee by Ms. Schutz; Jordana Shervington by Mr. VanderWaal; Sydney Grant by Rachael Nied.
