COLFAX — Five candidates will be on the ballot in the April 7 spring election for three positions on the Colfax Board of Education.
The three incumbents on the school board are Ken Bjork, Jodi Kiekhafer and Christie Hill.
The incumbents will be joined on the ballot by Jaclyn Ackerlund and Gary Stene.
Ackerlund, a graduate of Colfax High School, is the daughter of Lee Bjurquist, who served as superintendent in the Colfax school district for a little more than 25 years. Bjurquist retired in 2006.
Stene, a lifelong Colfax resident, served on the Colfax school board at the time it was put to referendum to build a new high school in 1978. In recent years, he has been employed by the school district as a teacher’s aide.
Nomination papers for the school board election were due January 7.
