Glenwood City High/Middle School is proud to announce the November Students of the Month. Cooperation was the character trait that was the focus of the month; this trait allows each of us to understand that we – teacher and student – are moving toward a common goal. Students who cooperate are ready and willing to meet the requests that a staff member provides and is, oftentimes, helpful by doing what is being asked. The staff at Glenwood City High/Middle School has identified the following students who demonstrate these traits in their day-to-day interactions.
The November Student of the Month at Glenwood City High School is freshman, Natasha Lagerstrom. In nominating Natasha, Ms. Schutz states, “Since I have known Natasha, she has always been one to work well with others, no matter their abilities and challenges. She takes it upon herself to include others by cooperating and leading at the same time. She cooperates with teachers to find the best means possible to excel in the classroom. Natasha listens and wants to do her best at all times. She has always been a team player that wants the best for others, as well as herself. Natasha is very deserving of November’s character trait of cooperation.”
Natasha is the daughter of Jennifer and Kelly Lagerstrom.
The November Student of the Month at Glenwood City Middle School is eighth grader, Michaela Blaser. Michaela was recognized by Ms. Nied, who states, “Michaela embodies the trait of cooperation. She works well with others in the classroom and is always willing to lend a helping hand to me or her peers. She contributes to classroom discussion, even though her quiet nature makes her hesitant to, but she is willing to for the sake of moving the class forward. She works hard and everyday meets classroom expectations. She also demonstrates her cooperation by being an integral part of her athletic teams and supporting her teammates. I believe Michaela represents what it means to be a Hilltopper and a cooperative member of our student body.”
Michaela is the daughter of Christa Edin and Bryan Blaser.
Students of the Month are rewarded by having a lunch provided for them and a friend, as well as being issued a unique piece of Hilltopper apparel. In addition, students are provided with preferential parking (for them or a family member).
We would also like to recognize the following students who were nominated in conjunction with their ability to be cooperative– Maddie Oehlke by Mr. Lamb; Makayla Sina by Mr. Lamb; Henry Wallin by Mr. Wannemacher; Ilan Anderson by Mr. Lamb; Stephanie Anderson by Mr. VanderWaal; Andrew Blaser by Mr. Score; Kyra Dahl by Mr. Schutz and Landon Obermueller by Ms. Minor.
