Man gets long sentence when drugs are found during Dunn County traffic stop

MADISON, WI—A 46-year old Chicago was sentenced after drugs were found in his vehicle during a traffic stop in Dunn County.
According to a news release, Scott C. Blader, United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin announced that Fred McGee was sentenced on November 8th to 84 months in federal prison for possessing 100 grams (about a quarter of a pound) or more of heroin with the intent to distribute. U.S. District Judge William M. Conley imposed the sentence on McGee who pleaded guilty to the charge on August 19, 2019.
On January 31, 2018, law enforcement officers recovered approximately 104 grams of fentanyl-laced heroin during a traffic stop of a vehicle in Dunn County. McGee, Terry Glaspie, and another individual occupied the vehicle. During the course of their investigation, law enforcement determined that McGee transported the heroin from Chicago so he could sell it in Minneapolis.
Judge Conley previously sentence Glaspie to 66 months in prison for his role in this offense.
The charge against McGee was the result of an investigation conducted by the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office, Menomonie Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Dunn County District Attorney’s Office, and the Drug Enforcement Administration. Assistant U.S. Attorney Chadwick M. Elgersma has handled the Prosecution of the case.
