BOYCEVILLE — Boyceville senior Brendan Sempf has been named to the 2019 Wisconsin Football Coaches Association (WFCA) All-State Academic team.
“He is very deserving of this award,” said Bulldogs’ head coach Michael Roemhild. “He works just as hard in the classroom as he does on the field.”
During the 2019 football season, Sempf finished as the Bulldogs’ top rusher as he ran for 500 yards over the nine-game season and had six touchdowns.
Sempf also finished atop Boyceville’s receiving stats as he nabbed 26 receptions for 409 yards averaging at 15.7 yards per catch. He also had 133 yards returning four punts and tallied 289 yards on 15 kick off returns.
“His intelligence is one of the characteristics that makes him successful on the field and will help him be successful in life,” coach Roemhild stated. “I am very proud of Brendan and he should be as well.
Sempf has played all four years of football for Boyceville.
To received the award, players must be a senior (12th grade) and have a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher.
