News for the week of Oct. 27th through Nov. 2nd
Monday residents enjoyed playing interactive video games in the Square. A fan favorite was the “cow tipping” game, where residents raced against one another to see who could tip the most cows before the clock ran out … lots of laughs were shared! The afternoon found several residents being pampered with fresh manicures in the East lounge.
Tuesday morning is always off to a great start with Al, Gus and Toby leading the Cribbage group. The residents always look forward to this weekly gathering. Catholic Prayer time was held in Willow, always a renewing time for residents to partake in. On East, residents gathered to help out the kitchen by frosting dozens of sugar cookies. Little did they know when we were done, we had to taste the beautifully frosted cookies to make sure they passed inspection. With a fresh cup of coffee, we gave them an A plus! Tuesday afternoon means Prize Bingo in the Square, where winners abounded! We are so appreciative of our hard-working volunteers for all of their help during bingo!
Pastor Hal Schroetter led us in our Wednesday morning church service. As always, we enjoyed his inspiring message, and singing along to our favorite hymns. Angela is always here on Wednesday morning in the beauty shop, where residents gather to gab and get their hair perfectly coifed. Many residents really look forward to this time of the week! The afternoon found residents enjoying a rousing game of Music Bingo.
Thursday was all about Halloween! In the morning, we were treated to the Colfax Kindergarten classes sharing their Spooky Songs program. Always so fun to see little ones in their costumes! In the afternoon, residents gathered to listen to music by Chuck Kirkwood, and enjoyed Witches’ Brew Punch! In the evening, residents gathered in the front lobby to hand out candy to over 200 trick-or-treaters! After the trick-or-treaters went home to take inventory of their loot, Jordan Herrick joined us for bounce ball and fellowship hour. It is great that he takes time out of his busy schedule to share with us.
On Friday morning we gathered in the Square for Gospel Sing a Long. As always, we enjoyed the talents of Kathy on piano and Bruce on guitar, playing our favorite hymns. Friday afternoon means Dime Bingo, where a healthy crowd gathered to try their luck! We had lots of winners and lots of fun.
