TOWN OF MARTELL — A single-vehicle accident early Monday morning in the Pierce County Town of Martell has claimed the life of a Glenwood City woman.
47-year-old Brenda Westbrook was pronounced dead at the scene after she was ejected from her vehicle.
According to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 12:27 a.m. on Monday, August 26 at the intersection of Highway 63 and County Road Y in the Town of Martell.
Authorities said that Westbrook was traveling north on Highway 63 when she crossed the center line, hit the shoulder and flipped the truck she was driving, which caused her to be thrown from the vehicle.
Westbrook was driving a 2003 Dodge pick-up and was the lone occupant.
The crash remains under investigation by the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.
