On July 19 and 20, three members of the Colfax Scholastic Trap Team competed at the 2019 SCTP American National Team Championships in Marengo, Ohio. The three team members included Nokomis Nosker, Trevor Rothbauer, and Will Wanish. Each member shot 200 rounds over a two-day timeframe. Team members did extremely well, even shooting during record-breaking heat in the Columbus, Ohio area.
With competitors throughout the United States attending the event, the competition had over 2,000 in the singles trap event alone. In addition, there were various games that could be played, vendors exhibiting both shooting items and guns, and individuals who could assist shooters with their stance and gun fitting.
During the event, Trevor Rothbauer earned a patch for shooting 75 straight; that means he never missed a shot in 75 attempts, which is quite a feat! As the senior member of the local Colfax team, he has proven to be an outstanding team member and encourager to other teammates.
Results for the three Colfax members are as follows (out of a possible score of 200):
Trevor Rothbauer – 183
Will Wanish – 166
Nokomis Nosker – 158
And, in relation to 2,033 shooters total, Rothbauer earned 709th place, Wanish earned 1,375th place, and Nosker earned 1,612th place.
