A single-vehicle crash has claimed the life of 57-year-old Knapp man.
Daniel M. Gibson was killed when he crashed the vehicle he was driving on 50th Avenue near a I-94 construction site in the St. Croix County Town of Cady sometime between Friday evening, August 2 and Saturday morning, August 3.
The St. Croix County Emergency Communication Center received a call around 5:29 a.m. Saturday, August 3, 2019 from a member of a construction crew that had arrived for work in the 3200 block of 50th Avenue, in Cady Township. They located a vehicle that had crashed, and the operator was deceased.
It is unknown what time the crash occurred.
Gibson was pronounced dead at the scene by the St. Croix County Medical Examiner.
Gibson was driving a 2008 Ford Explorer, and he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
This area of 50th Avenue runs underneath I-94, and was closed to traffic due to construction taking place on I-94.
The agencies assisting at this incident were United Fire and Rescue, Baldwin EMS, Spring Valley Fire, and the St. Croix County Medical Examiner’s Office.
This is the ninth traffic fatality recorded by St. Croix County in 2019.
