VOLUNTEERS HELPED rehab Mound Cemetery. On July 11th and 12th, volunteers spent time at Mound Cemetery in Downing straightening gravestones, putting headstones back in place and trimming trees and brush. Pat Lyons donated time, equipment and his skill on both days while Jerry Smith helped organize the effort. Mike Mounce, Tim Mounce, Gordy Smith, Peter Nelson, Tom Humpal and Mike Schouten gave of their time and energy to get the work accomplished and start to make the cemetery look cared for. Donations for cemetery fund are welcome and can be sent to the Village of Downing, P.O. Box 402, Downing, WI 54734 with notation that it is for the cemetery fund.
