GLENWOOD CITY summer school students have been busy at work in the school garden! Students are learning the art of planting and growing vegetables as well as the best part of gardening…weeding! Instructors Sarah Nichols and Sean VanderWaal have two weeks to teach students to grow and have fun with plants and eat their veggies too. The Glenwood City school garden start up was funded by a matching grant between Ag in The Classroom and the Glenwood City FFA Alumni. The Glenwood City FFA Alumni has been a great partner in this matching grant for the past few years! This year they donated $500 to help this awesome project get under way. Future plans include expanding the garden and introducing some fun new growing opportunities in the school district. —photo submitted
