News for the week of July 7th:
Monday activity group went a little crazy! Gather up some residents; add some beach balls, a parachute, and it makes for an hour of fun. More joined in when they heard the laughter traveling down the halls. The Catholics gathered on East for our Rosary group led by Loretta. Later that afternoon many gathered for the Monday cocktail hour. This is a great time to visit with old friends and make new ones while enjoying our favorite beverage.
Tuesday morning activities included a good game of cribbage on the Ridge crest with Al and Gus leading the group. They always look forward to their weekly visits. Before Lunch, Mary Ann came to share the sacrament of communion with our Catholics. We appreciate her taking the time to travel from Bloomer to share with our residents. The afternoon found our Bingo enthusiasts in the Square for Prize Bingo. All went away with bags full of treats. Volunteers Michelle, Patty, and Eileen always make sure this fun hour runs smoothly. Just before supper we were blessed to have Jordan Herrick come and spend some time with us. Not only does he bring us an inspiring message, but also sings some of our favorite hymns.
Pastor Wik led us in our Wednesday morning church service. We appreciate him taking the time to come and share with us. We enjoyed his inspiring message, and also singing along to our favorite hymns. After Lunch many gathered to listen to the entertainment of Blue Sky. And as always they drew a large crowd to the square to listen to their version of many of our favorite old time songs.
Thursday morning fun was when the Noodle meets the Ball. Residents gathered for an hour of fun using beach balls and pool noodles. As the residents hit the ball with the noodles, it was challenging to see which team could keep the ball on the opposite’s side. In the end, everyone came away a winner and we all had fun and even got a little exercise in the process. Later the afternoon enjoyed the weather and visited about old times with Penny. Just after bounce ball, residents spent some time in an hour of prayer and devotions led by Jordan Herrick. It is great that he takes time from his busy schedule to share with us.
Friday morning the Square held Gospel Sing a Long. We love picking out our favorite hymns to sing. Kathy and Bruce lead us in this hour of music and prayer. Friday afternoon, Dime Bingo was played in the Square. It is always a great way to end the week.
