LEEPS volunteers needed

If you enjoy older folks, reminiscing and companionship please consider volunteering through the LEEPS Program.  The time frame would be two hours a week with the same individual doing a few activities and providing needed socialization.  LEEPS (Language Enriched Exercise Plus Socialization) helps individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias retain function and gives their caregiver a much needed break.  Training is provided, background check is required, and a commitment of 6 months.   For more information contact Nancy Abrahamson, Dementia Care Specialist, 715-381-4411 at the Aging and Disability Resource Center of St. Croix County.  Current needs include a woman in Woodville, a woman in Baldwin, a woman in Hudson, and a man in New Richmond.
