It was another stellar week for the Boyceville Bulldogs men’s baseball team as they now lead the conference by one game and a record of 4-0.
The Bulldogs’ first game of the week was against the EPC Wolves at home on Tuesday evening, April 16, and ended in five innings after Boyceville was able to score four runs in the fifth to give them a 10 run lead to end the game and a score of 12-2.
Thursday’s game would be the deciding factor of the D-SC as Boyceville traveled to Spring Valley to face the Cardinals.
Boyceville found themselves down by one going into the fourth inning, but would tie things up in the fourth inning. Trett Joles had a huge hit in the seventh inning to give the Bulldogs the lead and they would maintain it to win 8-3.
The Bulldogs started their busy week of games with a rivalry match up against the Glenwood City Hilltoppers last evening, Tuesday, and will follow it up with a road game to Colfax on April 25. In order to finish a game that was called due to darkness against Mondovi, the Bulldogs will finish the game from April 5 and then play the game regularly scheduled for April 26. April 29 Boyceville will travel to Durand to wrap up their five game week.
All games are subject to change due to weather or field conditions.
Elmwood/Plum City
It was another successful showing for the Boyceville Bulldogs last Tuesday evening at home against the Elmwood/Plum City Wolves in a game that has them now tied in first place in the Dunn-St. Croix with a 3-0 record.
“Connor Sempf got the win for us and I feel like him, Walker and Brady pitched well tonight,” said Boyceville head coach Michael Roemhild. “They were all able to work themselves out of some situations.”
Connor Sempf pitched the first two innings for Boyceville and struck out three batters and gave up one hit, when up to bat Sempf was walked on base but was not part of scoring runs in the second, fourth and fifth innings.
First basemen Trevor Hollister was on top against the Wolves bringing in seven RBIs for the Bulldogs off of three hits and scoring two runs himself.
“He had our only three hits which included two singles and a home run with seven RBIs and a stolen base,” explained Roemhild. “I really liked his approach tonight.”

The Bulldogs have yet to get their first practice in on their home field, but it appears they are handling it well with their three wins in the conference.
Trett Joles and Brendan Sempf each had three runs for Boyceville in Tuesday’s game, Sempf was walked on base three separate times and had one RBI while Joles was walked on base once and struck out once.
Scoring in the second inning was outfielder Nick Litomsky after having to slide into home plate to beat out the throw from first base to the the Wolves catcher.
“We were walked 11 times and had four batters hit. I think we were too picky when up to hit and let some nice fastballs go by in the first three innings,” Roemhild said. “I am proud of the team for working with what we got and learning on the fly. We are 3-0 right now and have a big game at Spring Valley on Thursday.”
