ELMWOOD — After being sidelined for the past two weeks, as winter storms forced the cancellation of games and school, the Bulldog boys’ basketball team finally got back on the hardwood last Friday.
Traveling to Elmwood for a contest between the bottom two squads in the Dunn-St. Croix, Boyceville lost its 12th straight game as the Elmwood/Plum City Wolves earned a season sweep over the Bulldogs with a 56-43 win in the February 8 conference contest.
The outcome left the Bulldogs, 0-9 and 2-12, still searching for their first conference victory. The Wolves improved to 2-8 with both wins coming against Boyceville.
Brendan Sempf netted nearly half of the Bulldogs’ points against Elmwood/Plum City, finishing with 20 points. Teammates Logan Knudtson scored nine, William Link tallied seven and Jaden Reisimer had six in the game.
Unfortuantely, no further game details were available at the time of publication as Boyceville’s coaching staff had yet to send comments or books regarding the game against the Wolves.
Boyceville welcomed Mondovi to the hardwood on this past Monday, February 11, and turned around and faced off against Durand last evening, Tuesday. The Bulldogs take to the road for their last three games of the season with games against Spring Valley this Friday, February 15, at rival Glenwood City next Monday, February 18, and their last game will be February 21 against the Dunn-St. Croix leaders, the Colfax Vikings.
