SEVERAL Glenwood City band students participated in the UW-Eau Claire Honors Band recently.
The UW-Eau Claire Music & Theatre Arts Department hosted the 2018 UWEC High School Honors Band on Saturday, November 3rd. Students from throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Florida were selected to participate in this year’s band based on solo & ensemble experience, honors activities, and director’s recommendation. Over 500 students from 76 high schools applied. The students practiced all day and performed an evening concert to a capacity crowd at the Pablo Confluence Center.
Glenwood City students selected this year were Tressa Peskar (flute), Annika Bauman (bassoon), Delanie Quinn (bass clarinet), Leah Magsam (alto saxophone), Emma Lamb (French horn), Allexis Rassbach (Contra bass clarinet), Brendan Booth (trumpet), Olivia Janson (clarinet) and Nicholas Melendrez (tuba). The bands were directed by Dr. John Stewart (UWEC), Dr. Phil Ostrander (UWEC), and Mr. Eric Songer from Chaska, MN.
