ELK MOUND — The School District of Elk Mound will be hosting the annual Veterans Day program on Monday, November 12, at 2:20 p.m. in the Elk Mound High School gymnasium.
The keynote speaker will be Greg Quinn, Dunn County Veterans Service Officer.
According to the County Veterans Service Officer Association of Wisconsin’s on-line directory, Quinn was appointed to the position of Dunn County Veterans Service Officer in July of 2011.
The mission of the Veterans Service Office is to “provide assistance to veterans and dependents with obtaining county, state and federal benefits through advocacy, information and referral, and direct support,” according to the Dunn County Veterans Service Office website.
Quinn, who earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from UW-River Falls and a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from UW-Stout, was previously employed as the Families in Transition program director at WestCAP Inc. for 10 years.
Quinn’s military service includes the Army Reserve out of Fort Snelling, Minnesota, from 2003 to the present.
His major awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal (2), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
Quinn is the father of two daughters and enjoys hunting turkeys, pheasant, deer and bear. He also enjoys fly fishing.
Civic and veterans’ organizations of which Quinn is a member include Veterans of Foreign Wars life member Post 1039 and American Legion Wisconsin Post No. 32.
All veterans from around the area are invited to attend the Elk Mound Veterans Day Program on Monday, November 12, at 2:20 p.m.
