COLFAX — After finishing in the top four at state competitions, Taylor Meyer, a student at Colfax High School, advanced to the national level of competition at the Future Business Leaders of America National Leadership Conference.
Meyer competed in Spreadsheet Applications (using Excel), an event consisting of two parts: a skills production test on the computer and an objective test.
Meyer demonstrated skills in mathematical concepts, data organization, formulas, functions, graphs for analysis, pivot tables, macros, filters and data extraction.
The FBLA National Leadership Conference was held June 28 through July 1 in Baltimore. Participants from across the United States and abroad attend the conference to enhance their business skills, expand their networks, and participate in more than 70 business and business-related competitive events.
More than 9,200 high school students participated to “Elevate Their Futures” and competed for the opportunity to win more than $175,000 in cash awards.
The FBLA National Leadership Conference recognizes excellence in a broad range of business and career-related areas.
Kara Zutter, the FBLA advisor at Colfax High School, also was recognized at the national awards program for 30 years of service as the advisor of Colfax FBLA.
