Holy Cross to host “Creating a Safe Place for Children and Youth” presentation May 7, Uncommon Conversation May 17

Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Glenwood City will be hosting a presentation on a critically important topic, namely, safeguarding all God’s children, on on Monday, May 7th at 7:00 p.m.  Entitled, “Creating a Safe Place for Children and Youth in our Churches and Communities,” everyone is invited and strongly encouraged to attend this 75-minute educational opportunity, particularly in light of the recent arrest of a member of our community.

The facilitator will be Joy McElroy, Executive Director of Cherish All Children, a leading advocacy organization whose primary mission is to educate and engage congregations in the prevention of child sexual abuse and exploitation. Safe, no cost childcare will be provided.

As another way to engage with members of the community on this issue, the Faith Uniting Neighbors Team of Holy Cross Lutheran Church will be hosting an Uncommon Conversation on Thursday, May 17th from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Through this event and more like it in the future, we will talk about our values and our vision for our community. We are committing ourselves to modeling a faith that upholds everyone’s dignity and hope you will join us as we seek ways to bring the good news of the Gospel into the public arena. Again, safe, no cost childcare will be provided.
