Springter has arrived!

GLENWOOD CITY – Does this feel like the winter that never ends? That it goes on and on my friends? Maybe you are right! Welcome to April in Glenwood City – Springter Season. In the wee morning hours it can be 5 degrees, then jump up to the high 40s by noon.
Mother Nature has been battling it out daily as Winter and Spring fight for who rules the day. I have my mountain bike and kayak ready at an instant for Spring’s final punch to Winter. In fact, before the “official” start of Spring on March 20th, it had been already warm enough for me to kayak a local creek. I had even put the snow shovels away, which probably put the curse on us all. Because then BLAM, it was back to snowmobile season! What will the rest of April weather bring for the Hilltoppers? Will April snow showers bring May Blizzards?
Who knows?!? Just remember that Wisconsin was once under a big block of ice called a glacier!
