Glenhaven Happenings – 3-28-2018

Glenhaven News March 17-23

We had a little shake up in the schedule, so Live to be Healthy was held Saturday morning. In the afternoon, Steven Szydel was here with his music.

The baking club was busy on Monday making Jelly Rolls. No one had made or eaten them for a long time, so it was kind of a novelty. We did one roll with rhubarb jam and other with beet jelly. By all reports, they were both delicious.

Pastor Dahm was here from Forest Immanual Lutheran church on Tuesday morning, which was followed by Live to be Healthy. Easter trivia was our afternoon activity, and we had lots of questions, both Biblical and otherwise. The residents did a great job! They enjoyed the jelly roll afterwards.

Wednesday morning we put a couple of the men to work painting some wooden birds which they had sanded earlier. Jack, Les, and Bill all did fantastic. They got the base coat on, so now we can add the other colors. Thanks to Al for making them for us. In the afternoon, Bingo was hosted by the activity department.

Live to be Healthy was not held on Thursday, but was rescheduled for Saturday, but the beauty shop was in full swing for the second time this week. Several of the ladies also had manicures done by Ashley. A lively game of Dominoes was played in the afternoon.

Fridays are always an exciting day here at Glenhaven especially since its popcorn day! Popcorn was made by the activity department and also had extra help from Jack. In the afternoon we got together and worked on a crossword puzzle. After working our brains we relaxed with a cup of coffee and a cookie, talking about how it is almost Easter and what they did as kids on that holiday.
