Boyceville High School senior Alexis Meixner selected as Menomonie Optimist Youth of the Month

The Menomonie Optimist Club provides the Boyceville High School teaching staff with the opportunity to recognize the achievements and efforts of an outstanding senior student.  The selected student is then recognized as the Youth of the Month.  Alexis Meixner was selected to represent Boyceville High School as Youth of the Month for November.

Alexis is the daughter of Alisha and Scott Meixner of Wheeler.

The program statement from the Menomonie Optimist Club describes the qualities and attributes that made Alexis a great choice.

“The purpose of the Optimist Club is to develop optimism as a philosophy of life: to promote an active interest in good government and civic affairs, to aid and encourage the development of youth, in the belief that the giving of one’s self in service to others will advance the well-being of man, his community, and the world.”

To recognize her accomplishments there was an Awards Banquet held in Menomonie. Alexis was joined by her mother, Alisha Meixner, grandmother, Paula Meixner, and Boyceville High School Teacher, Mr. Tim Engel at the Awards Banquet.  Mr. Engel had the opportunity to introduce Alexis and talk about her achievements, both in school and our community. Alexis has been a valuable leader, supportive team member and a positive role model for her peers.  Alexis has served as the Captain of the Dance Team, a member of National Honor Society, a Science Olympiad member and Drama Club member. She has also been highly involved in her community.  She has played an important role in mentoring children at youth camps, attending summer Mission Trips, and teaching Sunday School. Alexis also volunteers for the Arc of Dunn County and helped coordinate the American Red Cross Blood Drive at Boyceville High School.  Her academic focus, service to her community and commitment to leadership has made Alexis a wonderful choice for the Optimist Award. Congratulations to Alexis on being selected as an outstanding senior! [/emember_protected]
