Glenhaven Happenings – 12-13-2017

A large crowd gathered on Sunday for the Auxiliary Annual Care Tree Lighting. The Dunn Dulcimers started us off with some wonderful music, which was followed by the lighting of the tree when it got dark.

Claude Williams pushed the button to light up the Care Tree, which was beautiful. Residents and visitors gathered around the big window inside, and several went outside to watch the tree being lit. Chicken and biscuits followed the tree lighting. Thanks to The Dunn Dulcimers, Auxiliary members, Claude, the Glenwood City court, and all the visitors who came to take part in the festivities. What a great turn out, and what a great start to our Christmas Season!

Our baking club made fruit cake on Monday. They were amazed at how heavy it was. Hopefully it gets eaten, and not passed from year to year like all the jokes about fruit cake! Truthfully, the residents like it and requested to make it, so I think it will be a hit.

The activity department had their monthly pancake breakfast on Tuesday, which is always enjoyed by the residents. Pastor Brad is still laid up with his ankle, and will be until the end of January, so we did some Bible trivia instead of church on Tuesday morning. This was followed by Live to be Healthy.

The lefse griddle was going on Wednesday, so residents made window clings and enjoyed lefse for a snack afterwards. We made enough for everyone to have a treat, and still have some to use for the Christmas Party.

Forest Methodist Church hosted Bingo on Thursday afternoon. We thank Pastor John and his crew for helping out. The residents always love their Bingo.

Catholic mass was celebrated on Friday morning, and residents continued with Christmas crafts in the afternoon.

The Connorsville Comets 4-H went caroling throughout the campus on Saturday. Great job, kids!
