Glenhaven-Havenwood Happenings – 10-4-2017

Glenhaven News Sept. 24-29

Happy Birthday, Gilbert! A nice crowd gathered in Grand Oaks on Sunday to help Gilbert Mounce celebrate his birthday.

The baking club spent a good deal of time on Monday “squeezing “ grapes to get the seeds out so we could make grape pies. Of course several people asked why we weren’t using our feet! It’s a long process, but the result was worth it. Many people have never heard of grape pie, so it is an old recipe come back to life. One of the nurses said it is a delicacy in the eastern U.S.

A lively game of Uno was enjoyed on Tuesday afternoon, with Teresa Miller being the big winner. Bingo was hosted by St. John’s Church on Wednesday.

Live to be Healthy exercises were held on Thursday morning, and the “Bellringers”, along with their director, Quentin Kase, were here to entertain in the afternoon. They come to us from “The Neighbors” in Menomonie. They do a great job!

The Auxiliary hosted their annual Fall Luncheon and Raffle on Friday. We had a nice crowd, and lots of good food donated by the auxiliary, as well as some made by the kitchen. Many of our tenants and residents also attended, many accompanied by their families. Thanks to all who attended, helped with the food and raffle, made food, bought tickets, and donated raffle items. The Auxiliary is a great help to our activity department.

Saturday’s entertainment will be Rich Schroeder at 2:00.

And the Auxiliary’s annual bake and craft sale is on November 3rd.
