Six Colfax natives perform at the Shell Lake Arts Center

SHELL LAKE — Colfax natives Emma Hurlburt, Edward Doerr, Tate Russell, Wesley Kallstrom, Rachel Knutson, and Hannah Lemler performed at the Shell Lake Arts Center this summer!  

Rachel, Hannah, Wesley, and Edward performed at the Shell Lake Arts Center’s final Show Choir performance on Friday, July 28, 2017.

This concert was a culmination of a week long Show Choir camp, where participants received instruction from professional show choir clinicians and choreographers on developing greater musicianship, stage presence, interpretation, breath support, phrasing, and more!

Edward also participated in the Shell Lake Arts Center’s Film Making camp, which took place from July 30-August 4, 2017.  Students received instruction professional actor and producer Andrew Kirov, and learned about camera and editing techniques, lighting, sound design, and story development. 

Emma performed at the Shell Lake Arts Center’s final Wind Ensemble and Concert Band performance on Friday, July 14, 2017.  This concert was a culmination of a week long Wind Ensemble and Concert Band camp, where participants received instruction from professional musicians and educators on music history, music theory, masterclasses, chamber ensembles, large ensembles, and more!

Tate performed at the Shell Lake Arts Center’s “Monster Jam,” on Friday, July 28, 2017.  This concert was a culmination of a week long Rock Band camp, where participants received instruction from a professional rock band, The Tommy Bentz Band, in subjects such as getting gigs, gear, practice calendars, marketing, instrument master classes, and more!
