A Word to the Wise – 3-15-2017

Does the seeking and living of Godly righteousness really make a difference? Yes! The Bible gives a very clear answer, “The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand” (Prov. 127).

Because God is righteous in all His character and all He does, He seeks righteousness in His people. Of course, we must understand that one cannot live a truly righteous life unless he knows Christ as Savior and becomes obedient to Him. God has given in His word, the Bible, the truth we need to know to live righteously. However, because most of the world does not believe in Jesus Christ, the world is filled with violence, anarchy, rebellion, and the seeking of things that are contrary to the word and will of God. For those who continue in such unbelief, they will eventually be overthrown and come to an end without the blessing and presence of God. The result must eventually be eternal judgment. The righteous, on the other hand, shall stand. They will stand because they stand with God. They can stand in the midst of an ungodly world and they will stand eternally with God in heaven. Yes, Godly righteousness makes a great deal of difference!
