Does the Lord take notice of one’s heart? Yes, very definitely.
The book of Proverbs reminds us, “They that are of a perverse heart are an abomination to the Lord: but such as are upright in their way are His delight” (Prov. 11:20). The fact is, all attitudes and actions proceed from the heart. That is why we are warned, “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life” (Prov. 4:23). In living out our lives, nothing is more important than the condition of our heart. That is why the Bible places such an important emphasis on the heart. If our hearts are right with God, we will live a life pleasing to Him and also to ourselves. The Lord abundantly blesses the righteous. There is no way to please God if our hearts are not right with Him. Our hearts begin to be right when we come to Him confessing our sin and trusting Him to be our Savior. It is then that God can begin to direct our lives in such a way that our lives will be pleasing to Him. It is when our hearts are pleasing to Him that we begin to know His special blessing in our lives. Yes, God does take notice of our hearts!
